Formliners and embedded brick for tilt-up panels

For tilt-up panels, Advanced supplies liners and embedded thin brick that lay flat on the casting slab, install fast, and strip clean when the panel is lifted vertical. The result is a tilt-up building that reads as brick or stone, with the finish cast into the panel and the brick work done flat at grade.

Which patterns and systems fit

Embedded thin brick is the headline for tilt-up, because it turns a plain concrete panel into a brick building. Solocast holds the brick through the pour and Flex2Fit seals around brick that is not uniform, with no ledge. Seamless pattern liners cover stone and other textures.

The liner has to behave on a flat casting slab and then survive the panel going vertical, which is where our tilt-up setup matters.

Notes for the crew

  • Liners lay flat on the casting slab, hold position through the pour, and release clean at the lift.
  • Embedded brick is set flat and at grade, which is faster and safer than laying brick on a wall.
  • Finishes are chosen to survive the panel rotating from flat to vertical.

Common questions

How does embedded brick work on a tilt-up panel?
The brick sets into the liner on the flat casting slab, and the panel casts on top of it. When the panel is lifted vertical, the brick is already cast into the face. The building reads as masonry, with the brick work done flat at grade instead of on scaffolding.
Will the liner strip clean when the panel is lifted?
That is exactly what a tilt-up liner has to do. Ours are made to lay flat, hold through the pour, and release clean at the lift. Draft is planned so the texture comes away from the liner without chipping as the panel goes vertical.
Can Flex2Fit handle brick that is not uniform on a tilt-up job?
Yes. Flex2Fit seals around brick that varies in size, shape, and texture, with no ledge, and it is multi use. On a tilt-up job with real brick variation, that keeps the mortar lines clean and lets you run the liner again.
